**Title.** Entropy of arithmetic functions and arithmetic compactifications

**Abstract.** A new notion of entropy of arithmetic functions is introduced. It is shown that all zero entropy arithmetic functions form a C\*-algebra. This entropy also behaves nicely with respect to limits similar to dynamical entropy of Kolmogorov and has many properties similar to Shannon’s entropy.
