DESCRIPTION:<p style="text-align: center;">	<drupal-media data-entity-type="media" data-entity-uuid="4c366524-e13c-40fc-b16d-19dae761aade" alt="bischoff" data-view-mode="hwp_medium"></drupal-media></p><p>	Title: Quantum Symmetries and Conformal Nets</p><p>	Abstract: A (rational) conformal net is a mathematical description of a chiral conformal field theory. Via its representation theory, it gives rise to a unitary modular tensor category, which gives a topological field theory and is a model for topological phases of matter. I will introduce a notion of quantum operations on a conformal net generalizing global symmetries which form a group. This gives a framework for "quantum symmetries" which also can be understood in the setting of unitary modular tensor categories.
