 **Title:**  Introduction to Random Matrix Theory and Topological Recursion

 **Abstract:**  In this talk I will give a brief introduction to random matrix theory, its planar structure, and the theory of topological recursion by Eynard-Orantin which is developed from the full genus expansion of Hermitian matrix models. Since its inception the same recursive structure is found in many seemingly unrelated enumerative geometry problems. I will mention a few of them and possible further directions.
