Title: A Bridge Between the Baum-Connes Conjecture and the Langlands Program
Abstract: I will first introduce the Bernstein decomposition of the category of smooth representations of a p-adic reductive group and explain how it could be used to improve the understanding of the K-theory of the reduced C*-algebra of the group. Next, I will describe a Galois picture of this decomposition, constructed in collaboration with Ahmed Moussaoui and Maarten Solleveld, and its application to the local Langlands correspondence.
